The inspiration of this series comes from Boym’s discussion of the future of nostalgia. I seek to express the nostalgic feeling that arises from the specific moment when I am about to graduate and leave the familiar environment, especially my beloved roommates. Through the textile, porcelain, and illustration, one can detect the personality of each roommate with whom I spent my past four years. In particular, my feelings towards each roommate constitute the details of the fabric. I also use mixed materials to highlight their different personalities. The choice of porcelain is influenced by my father, who is a porcelain artist. In so doing, I wish to demonstrate that nostalgia is a positive feeling, which can comfort me and company me whenever I am in the middle of crisis.
